I was born in Valencia, Spain in 1936. Its bright Mediterranean colours and its endless variety of tiles with geometrical patterns you'll find in both its old and new quarters, have certainly influenced my later life as an artist. Valencia has had a large Arab population for more than 6 centuries and you can appreciate its Islamic heritage throughout the city.

After finishing the Spanish and German high schools, I followed drawing classes at the "Escuela de Bellas Artes San Carlos" in Valencia for a while. In 1956 I went on to study at the famous Hochschule für Gestaltung in Ulm Germany. The school was founded as a continuation of the former Bauhaus, which played an important role in the development of modern art and design in the 1920s. In 1929 the Bauhaus was closed by the Nazis.
